We are Yourope is a project centered around a 2-month volunteering service in Witten. 

A group of 10 participants from Germany, Bulgaria and Italy will undertake a volunteering service in the city of Witten, more concretely in the refugee centre.

They will be involved in renovation, gardening and other volunteering activities at the refugee camp, while at the same time benefiting from a programme including sessions on intercultural and legal topics, joined events such as cooking classes, excursions and many exchange moments with the inhabitants of the refugee center.

The context of the volunteer activity in the refugee camp will allow both parts of the group to learn intensively from their personal experiences and share their knowledge, sensitizing the participants also to subjects such as migration and integration, EU asylum policy and barriers of social inclusion.

The aim of the project is to support European solidarity, mutual empowerment and peer-to-peer learning. Through various public events the city and inhabitants of Witten will also be involved.
