euroPAtchwork is a project for young refugees, particularly the ones falling under the European Dublin III regulation. The Dublin Regulation decides which country- in most cases, the country of the first entry- is responsible for asylum seekers. However, many migrants feel the need to relocate to other European countries. This project communicates possible legal mobilities tools and wants to provide easily understandable information in the form of little video clips. Furthermore, the project raises awareness on refugees’ life realities and strengthens solidarity between citizens and migrants. For that, refugees will share their stories in a 30 min documentary on their lives and the difficulties they faced in different European countries (Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece). Last but not least, the events of “My European experience” will discuss young migrants’ mobility desire and need and will present the newly elaborated information tools.

The project SocInc (social inclusion) will run from the 1st of August 2019 until the 31st of July 2020 was designed with partners from Italy, Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria and is divided into 3 mobilities (one in Germany, one in Italy and one in Bulgaria). The first mobility will take place in Witten in November 2019.
Participants will be youth workers, intercultural mediators and educators, social workers and refugee community leaders, all working particularly with vulnerable young refugees. As usual, we will make sure to have participants with a diversity of backgrounds, including participants who have experienced migration or flight.
SocInc aims at training youth workers on non-formal education methods as a tool to improve social inclusion for young refugees (possibly) on the move and young refugees with social and mental difficulties.
With this project, our association wants to once again raise awareness on the situation of refugees in Europe and the need for policy changes, but also help youth workers develop their knowledge and skills in order to efficiently support vulnerable young refugees. By the end of the project, a SocInc toolkit will be published and made accessible for youth workers across Europe.
Tabadol is Arabic and means exchange – and this is exactly what we, as a group of young people from migration_miteinander, want to do together with a group from Bologna, Italy: exchange ourselves and learn from each other.
What? Together with and for young refugees, we want to develop and organise regular exchange activities, such as language tandems, job training, creative workshops (storytelling, theatre) or public events.
In addition to intercultural exchange, it is also important for us to understand the European context in which we find ourselves and to make it more tangible; that is why we will, among other things, undertake a joint excursion to the European capital Brussels in February 2020, where we will discover the European institutions together and exchange ideas with other local associations.
All our activities have a holistic approach: we also want to actively involve the civilian population and always meet at eye level and with mutual respect, adapting the content to the needs and ideas of all participants.
The aim is mutual empowerment and learning from each other, from which young people with refugee backgrounds in particular should benefit. In the end, as trained facilitators of social cohesion, we all want to be able to contribute to a positive and inclusive coexistence of our societies.
The project (Y)our Europe?! is implemented by migration_together and partners from Bulgaria, Italy and Turkey.
The main objectives of the project are to make Europe more tangible and to prepare young people to actively work for peaceful coexistence in multicultural societies.
(Y)our Europe?! started with a youth exchange in Witten from the 15th to 29th of July. Around 12 young people per country between 18 and 30 years, with and without a refugee background, participated in various activities such as workshops on Europe and living together, excursions and intercultural theme evenings. Participants have learned to use tools such as social networks to promote intercultural exchange and communication.
Now after the exchange, the participants are developing their own project ideas within Idea Labs to bring Europe into their own local context and to set an example for solidarity and multicultural societies.
In September, the ideas will be publicly presented to a jury at a large pitch event and then implemented on site with our support.
The Bewerbercafé (eng. Job Hunting Café) promotes integration for people with a migration- or refugee backgrounds in the local job market. The consultation hour offers the necessary orientation regarding the German labour market and its “codes of conduct” by providing individual guidance. During the sessions applicants will learn how to write a motivation letter, CV as well as how to prepare an application folder (dt. Bewerbungsmappe) that reflects current professional standards in Germany. Also, how to use appropriate search tools for job hunting will be shown.
The job hunting consultation-hour is open and free of charge for anyone with a migration- or refugee background.
The opening hours for the Job Hunting consultation are Mondays from 17:00-19:00 and Wednesday from 15:00-17:00.
The Bewerbercafé takes place in the migration_miteinander Infocenter, Marktstraße 3, 58455 Witten. Assistance can be offered by agreement at other times as well.

The project will take place in the second week of October and lasts for a week. Our partners are from Italy, Greece, Romania, Albania, Spain, Turkey, Lithuania, France, and Malta.
The project will include several activities including workshops, presentations, daily evaluations, and informal education activities such as simulations, different discussion formats, group work & peer-to-peer learning.

“Hör meine Geschichte” is a project that aims to increase the appreciation for diversity and reduce the fear of the “unknown” among people from diverse backgrounds through storytelling and story writing. Through biographical work “Hör meine Geschichte” aims to take people with and without a refugee background on equal terms and establish inclusion. The target group will also have a chance to share their diverse stories, ranging from tradition, religion, identity and mobility. Their stories will be turned into a book to be published at a later stage.
The project will run in parallel with the book to be published and will be implemented in two phases. In the first one, 24 young people (12 with and 12 without refugee background) between the ages of 20-27 years, are going to learn and experience by their participation in the project, how they can shape actively co-existence with their biography and skills.
They take part in two months of training in different fields such as; Cultural mediation, dialogue- and storytelling techniques. Under the guidance of professional assistance and support from their tandem partners, the participants will develop their individual stories and be able to present them in the different activities that they will organize by themselves.
In the second phase, the participants will organize events, that will have different formats and are developed to reach a wider audience. At least 5 events, each with 3-4 stories, will be organized in schools and facilities for people with disabilities. In addition to those, the participants will organize 3 public events:
1-Intercultural storytelling with buffet and live music
2- “Open Mic” – A storytelling event in the Wittener Bar, where even guests are invited to share their personal stories.
3-final event “Open Library Day” with all the stories put in one book. At this event, visitors can “read” and learn from the 12 “books” stories and biographies of participants, who will perform the “living books”.
Each event creates space for informal exchange and getting to know each other.
In addition, all events are organized by the tandem team itself, which, apart from social inclusion will also promote self-sufficiency and organizational skills for the participants.
The book to be published will carry touching and moving stories that will shed light into the ‘secret’ and ‘mystical’ lives of many people we see today in our society.

Yalla Integra! aims to bring together young people with and without a refugee background from Witten and surroundings. The project will allow them to get to know each other and enjoy different activities as a big group or as a tandem in pairs.
During the first phase of the project the participants will get to know each other and learn about each other’s common interests and hobbies. They will meet once a week and support each other in everyday life situations, make excursions, do sports or create a language tandem.
Every four months, 30 selected young people (between 18 and 30 years) will form 15 tandems. To prepare them for their common activities, all participants will take part in an intercultural and cultural mediation training beforehand.
In addition to that, Yalla Integra! will organize a monthly event for all participants of the project, such as trips in the surrounding area or neighboring cities. In order to consolidate the theoretical learning and to strengthen the practical exchange, participants will be involved in various sport activities, group games or other suggested activities.
During the second phase of the project, the participants themselves will organize a culinary evening called “The World cooks”. This activity will take place every 2 months. 3 refugees will introduce traditional dishes from their home country to 7 other curious participants. Together, they will cook these traditional dishes for a dinner with up to 60 guests; locals, other participants, etc.
The evenings will be rounded off with traditional music, dances, short movies or discussions.

During the workshop local students and displaced youth will work together on a photo exhibition about various education systems worldwide. Also, the participants will work on an “image film”, which explains in an entertaining and playful way the approach of the Waldorf School and anthroposophy and can be used by Waldorf schools throughout Germany.
This activity will not only promote peer-to-peer but also intercultural exchange and dialogue skills of the project’s participation.
The project will be implemented as part of Waldorf 100.
