“All Stories” – A Children’s Book Project for Inclusive and Anti-Bias Education

With All Stories, we create spaces where children can explore the diversity of our society, share their own experiences, and learn how to build respectful and inclusive relationships with others.

The project is aimed at children aged 4 to 12 and combines the Anti-Bias approach with methods from bibliotherapy, literature-based education, and creative learning. Together, we read stories that reflect a wide range of life experiences and invite children to engage with topics such as belonging, friendship, fairness, prejudice, and discrimination.

At the heart of the project are our All Stories Reading Clubs, where children do not simply listen to stories but actively engage with them. Through dialogic reading, creative activities, and guided reflection, books become a starting point for meaningful conversations, empathy, and personal growth. At the same time, we foster children’s literacy skills and encourage a lifelong love of reading and storytelling.

We implement the project directly in kindergartens, bridge projects, and children’s and youth centres, allowing us to connect closely with children’s everyday realities. Together with educational professionals and trained Anti-Bias Dialogue Facilitators, we ensure that the project’s ideas and methods continue to have an impact long after the reading clubs have ended.

In this way, All Stories contributes to greater equality of opportunity, participation, and social cohesion in Witten – helping children discover that every story matters, and everyone belongs.
