Move in my shoes is what you were looking for!

Gather a group of friends (at least 6) and step in the shoes of a refugee in Europe. No worries, you do not need to have prior knowledge about migration – that’s the aim of the game: to learn. Of course, if you have some already, it will help! 

The path to the country you wish to arrive at is not easy. At different stations you will have to choose which path to take. At stations; NGO, Lawyers, Job center and friends, you can get help to guide you towards your goal.

Our game Move in my shoes was created in the framework of our ESC Solidarity Project euroPatchwork  funded by European Solidarity Corps (ESC)/Erasmus+ program program and Coordinated by one of the group members Maria Kozhuharska together with team members of migration_miteinander and all group members of the solidarity project.  

For the creation of the game, we were supported by Ralf Brinkhoff, game pedagogue, game developer, playbook author and theatre pedagogue (E-Mail:  ralfbrinkhoff@t-online.de).

We were motivated to do a project as such in order to put the refugees’ right of freedom of movement in Europe more under the spotlight. This is a basic human right to all human beings, yet not accessible to everyone in Europe in our 2020. As young Europeans, we felt the urge to underline the effects of the current EU Asylum and Migration policy on young asylum seekers and refugees.
